Getting The Most Out Of Your Medication

A medicine use review involves a discussion about your medication. It's role is to allow you to get the best out of your medication, as well as discussing any concerns you may have. You may be eligible if:

  • You take 1 or more medication, including Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory drugs, Anticoagulants, Antiplatelets and/or Diuretics

  • You have been discharged from hospital less than 4 weeks ago and 2 or more medications have been changed

  • You have a respiratory disease (of the lungs) and are taking 2 or more medications

  • You have a cardiovascular risk (to do with the heart and blood vessels) and are taking 4 or more medicines.

If you are eligible, the pharmacist will likely carry out this service annually.

DISPOSAL OF UNWANTED MEDICATION

Helping Dispose Medication Safely

Ideally, we would want no wastage of medication. However, any medication that is unwanted or has expired can be disposed of by us at Martindale Pharmacy. Make sure there are no needles, lancets or anything else sharp present, and let us know if you want to dispose of any controlled drugs. If unsure, feel free to contact us.
